Far Eastern University picked up where it left off beating Adamson, 27-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-22, Saturday at the start of the second round of the UAAP women’s volleyball eliminations at the FEU gym.

The Lady Tamaraws improved to 7-1 with the win sweeping the Lady Falcons, whom they faced just last Thursday, this season.

Macaila Morada dominated for the Lady Tamaraws scoring 20 points – 15 on attacks and four on blocks – to grab their seventh straight win and the top spot in the standings.

The Lady Falcons suffered their third loss in eight games but remained at third place.

In the first game, University of the Philippines got its second win of the season with a 25-13, 19-25, 25-22, 25-17 decision over University of the East.

Carmela Lopez accounted for 12 points as the Lady Maroons upped their mark to 2-6 tying the Lady Warriors.

De La Salle, on the other hand, tries to join FEU on top of the standings when it faces off with dangerous University of Santo Tomas at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at The Arena in San Juan City.

The Lady Archers, with a 6-1 record, look to continue their impressive performance but the Tigresses, who own a 4-3 mark, will go all out to tie Adamson for third in the standings.

In the first game, Ateneo goes up against National University in the 2:00 p.m. contest.

The Lady Eagles, like the Tigresses, will try to propel themselves to third place with a victory over the Lady Bulldogs, who is in high spirits after getting its first win over UP last Wednesday.

Team standings: FEU 7-1, DLSU 6-1, Adamson 5-3, UST 4-3, Ateneo 4-3, UE 2-6, UP 2-6, NU 1-6.
