The 1ST Pantaleon E. Raagas Sr. Memorial Inter-Zone Volleyball Cup formally opened in Cagayan de Oro on Sunday at the seaside plaza of Barangay Bonbon.

Serving as the 2007 Bonbon fiesta month sports offering of the Pantaleon E. Raagas Sr. Memorial Sports Group, in cooperation with Bonbon Barangay Council, it is open to all Bonbon residents.

With the youthful Jackie Biongcog around--who is known as a certified volleyball lover and active leader of the Bonbon youths--a smooth and functional conduct of the Raagas Volleyball Fest is almost assured.

Supporting the event are Raagas Beach, retired city agriculturist and ex-Bonbon chieftain Carlomagno "Loloy" Raagas, former city councilor Ed Raagas, Dodong Raagas, barangay councilwoman Irene Raagas Gabor, councilwoman Marlyn Magsalay, Jun Magsalay, Josefino "Pino" Yamut, Joel "Wing" Paasa, PJ Balibay, Erma Nagac, Romeo Delfin, Lawyer Roy Raagas and Jackie Biongcog.

"Sports development will always be in our hearts even that we're no longer in the City Council of Cagayan de Oro," said former Raagas, who is also keen in initiating a chess clinic program at Lourdes College Grade School being its present PTA-GS president.
