Filipino cue master Dennis "Robocop" Orcollo nabbed the top prize at the 2008 Qatar International 9-Ball Open by beating Niels Feijen of the Netherlands, Saturday at the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation in Al Muntazah Road in Doha, Qatar. A report posted on SportsNews.ph said Orcollo quickly went down to business, taking a 4-2 lead against Feijen. The Filipino then zoomed to a 9-3. Feijen won two of the next three racks but Orcollo blocked his opponent by clearing the following three racks to win the crown with a final score of 13-5.
Orcollo, who beat Warren Kiamco (11-6), Ramil Gallego (11-9) and Ralf Souquet (11-8) en route to the finals match with Feijen, went home $40,000 richer. Top Pinoy cue artists Efren Bata Reyes, Alex Pagulayan and Ronnie Alcano also participated in the tournament but failed to make it to the finals.
