 Magnolia Purewater used their experience and height advantage to easily beat Bacchus Energy, 80-66, at the start of their semifinals series in the 2009 PBL PG-Flex Linoleum Cup Thursday at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig.As expected, Magnolia’s “Big 3” -- Neil Raneses, Dylan Ababou and Al Magpayo -- tallied in doubles to end a three-game losing streak. Raneses led the Wizards with 19 points while Magpayo and Ababou produced a combination of 32 points to drown the rookie-laden Energy Warriors. Bacchus failed to use their quickness and improved outside shooting against Magnolia's height and experience. The Energy Warriors were banking on their winning streak before colliding with the Wizards, who were recovering from three losses in the eliminations. |
