The longer the semifinal series between Air21 and Magnolia will get, the better it will be for Barangay Ginebra.

The Kings continue to enjoy extended rest as the Express and Beverage Masters figure in a tight showdown for the remaining finals berth in the Smart-Philippine Basketball Association Fiesta Cup.

The Express currently leads the best-of-seven series, 3-2, going into Friday’s Game Six at the Astrodome.

A Magnolia victory would forge a winner-take-all Game Seven set Sunday.

A do-or-die between the Express and Beverage Masters will mean the Kings will have enjoyed more than a week’s rest for Ginebra, which last played July 27 when they beat Red Bull in overtime, 101-97, to complete a 4-0 sweep of their semifinal series.

Coach Jong Uichico said the Kings are enjoying every minute of their rest.

“Enjoy na lang muna," he said. “But of course, we’ll look at the second series and see who we're going to play."

The Kings are on a franchise-record 12-game winning streak.

The Finals stint will be the 17th for the La Tondeña franchise and the 12th time for Uichico, second with Barangay Ginebra.
