It would be an unprecedented move if he makes it as Uy is a Catholic priest, who served as vice president for finance of University of San Carlos in Cebu City where he was also its athletic moderator. PSC chair Butch Ramirez said Uy would be a welcome addition to the agency, adding that the present executive director of the agency has been getting praises for his fine work since replacing Cesar Pradas. Former Makati councilor King Yabut was also named among the possible successors along with the usual commissioner-candidates for the 18-year-old sports agency. De Luna is reportedly on his way out in the wake of a PSC revamp that started last week when former Olympic swimmer Akiko Thompson was named as new commissioner replacing Joey Mundo. |
