Feeling a little indisposed, Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao skipped training yesterday but is expected to be back at Rex 'Wakee' Salud gym today to continue the hard grind for his highly-anticipated October 6 rematch with Marco Antonio Barrera. Pacquiao had just wrapped up a two-day training where a crew sent to Cebu by HBO had filmed his morning runs as well as his daily activities including the afternoon workouts. “He was already feeling a little weak yesterday, but he just had to continue doing what he did because of the HBO crew,” said an insider from Team Pacquiao. A member of Pacquiao's entourage arrived at around 3PM yesterday to inform a group of mediamen who had been waiting that the Filipino icon would not be reporting to the gym for his workout due to a slight fever. Instead, sources said Pacquiao spent the whole afternoon yesterday attending to his eleven-month-old daughter Mary Divine Grace and wife Jinkee at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel where they are staying. “Ganyan naman talaga si Manny. Pag walang ensayo, naka-focus attention nya sa anak nya at sa pamilya,” said the source. Meanwhile, Pacquiao has expressed his all-out support to Cebuano Eriberto 'Yukka' Gejon who is vying for the WBA minimumweight title today against Yutaka Niida in Tokyo, Japan. Pacquiao was at ringside when Gejon and Niida first duked it out in 2005, but begged off from attending today's fight as he is busy training for the rematch with Marco Antonio Barrera. Pacquiao had earlier indicated that he thought Gejon had done enough to win the first fight, although the decision did not come his way. Source: Inquirer.net |
