 Manny Pacquiao’s MP Warriors overcame a slow start to turn back Zamboanga del Norte, 104-80, in the Smart-Liga Pilipinas Conference II Friday at the Lagao Gym in General Santos City.The MP Warriors thus bounced back from its opening day 63-59 loss to the Ilocos Sur Bravehearts on Wednesday. Five players finished in double figures for the Warriors including Pacquiao’s brother Bobby. Boosted by cheers of the hometown crowd, the Warriors used a 21-7 scoring exchange in the third period to finally break the game wide open. John Gonzaga paced the Warriors with 18 points while Dondon Mendoza finished with 16 markers and eight rebounds. Bob Ilanga and Jaypee Locsin tallied 14 and 13 each while Bobby Pacquiao joined the scoring parade by scattering eight points in the second half to finish with 10. Jonathan Pareno led Zamboanga’s losing cause with 22 points. |
