It was the Generix’s first back-to-back win in the season-opening tournament giving the Jappy Pascual-owned squad a 3-7 mark to keep its quarterfinal bid alive. The Wizards, who finished the double elimination round with a 7-5 record, closed out their season losing their last three games. With elimination staring them at the face, Ian Saladaga stepped up big time leading the Generix’s offensive onslaught. Saladaga paced Pharex with 21 points while Sean Co, who’s acrobatic layup in the third quarter gave the Generix a 70-55 lead, added 10 markers. “We’re now playing well but we have to win two more games to stay alive," said coach Carlo Tan. “We’re in playoff mode right now." |
