Eagles claw Maroons, 79-58

The Blue Eagles of Ateneo de Manila came through with an easy win over the Fighting Maroons of UP, 79-58, in the first game of the UAAP men's basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.

Rabeh Al-Hussaini led the Eagles with 26 points and 17 rebounds as Ateneo maintained its 11-1 leadership in the standings.

The Maroons, meanwhile, dropped further with 3-9.

Ateneo next meets the NU Bulldogs on Saturday, August 30, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

UP, on the other hand, has a game scheduled against the FEU Tamaraws, on Sunday, August 31, also at Philsports.
