MANILA, Philippines – The Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws scored a come-from-behind 72-66 win over the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men’s basketball tournament Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum.
The win was the Tamaraws’ fourth straight and improved their record to 5-1 to force a three-way logjam for the lead with the Eagles and the idle La Salle Green Archers.
FEU’s victory also foiled the game-long brilliance of Ateneo big man Rabeth al-Hussaini, who had a monster game for the Eagles scoring 33 points and grabbing 20 rebounds.
Reil Cervantes netted 14 points and had 13 rebounds to lead the scoring for the Morayta-based dribblers.
