The management committee of the National Collegiate Athletic Association has favored the petition of College of St. Benilde against San Beda College over the 2007 season jersey worn by Red Lion Sam Ekwe during the game on July 18.
In a late-breaking report Wednesday, ANC's "Hardball' sports program said that the management committee of the NCAA upheld the petition filed by College of St. Benilde for the game won by San Beda.
"Late tonight the management committee of the NCAA issued a decision on the protest," said co-host Bill Velasco.
"And as per the rules of the league, they (committee) would have to uphold the petition of St. Benilde," he added.
By virtue of the decision, San Beda now has a 4-2 win-loss slate and is tied with Mapua. CSB, meanwhile, rose to 2-4.
