The 61st edition of the regular Men's Interclub, popularly acknowledged as the national clubs championship of the Philippines, will be played on February 27 to March 1 while the Seniors Interclub, a separate competition for the clubs senior players, will run from February 21 to 24. Post here your Valentine's Day greeting. Organizers expect no less than 1,400 players to participate in what is touted to be the largest ever golf event in the history of Philippine golf considering that each Seniors team is composed of a maximum of eight players while a typical Men's team consists of a maximum of 10 players. The turn out of entries is expected to exceed that of last year's in Cagayan de Oro where 140 contingents, divided into 70 seniors clubs and another 70 men's clubs, competed. Also expected to compete are 35 international clubs in the Seniors and another 34 in the Men's division coming from Las Veghas, Guam, New Jersey, Florida and Shanghai (China), which are all competing in the annual event for the first time. The foreign entries are expected to make the competition more stiff although Canlubang, which has dominated the contest in the last two years and as defending champions in both categories, is expected to gun for a two-division "three-peat" this time around, a feat never before accomplished in PAL Interclub history.
