Lascuna in share of 4th place in Heritage golf opener

The Philippines' Antonio LascunaMANILA, Philippines – The Philippines' Antonio Lascuna secured an opening round of four-under-par 68 to share fourth place with two Malaysians in the $50,000 Heritage Melaka Classic at the Tiara Melaka Golf and Country Club in Malaysia.

The day, though, belonged to Thai Sattaya Supupramai who fired a red-hot nine-under 63 to establish a new course record and take the first round lead.

Lascuna was well on his way to a good day when he had successive birdies from the second and another at the ninth hole. Two holes later, he nailed another birdies to go four-under after No. 11. A bogey on the13th, however, pushed him back a stroke off the pace.

A stroke back from Lascuna was rookie pro Ferdinand Aunzo, who managed a three-under 69, which was good for fifth spot with five others.

Juvic Pagunsan was in 13th with a two-under 70, Mars Pucay 71 (tied 15th), Marvin Dumandan 72 (tied 23rd), and Anthony Fernando 73 (tied 37th).
