Sinfuego submitted a two-under-par 70 for a 54-hole total 205, one ahead of defending champion Que, who made a level par for 206. Jerome Delariarte is in joint third with 209 after carding a 72 but is four back of the leader along with Namchok Tantipokakul of Thailand, who shot a 69. That 70 of Sinfuego, a 37-year-old professional playing out of Canlubang, was his worst in three days but it gave him a one-shot cushion over halfway leader Que – who could only match par after his sizzling opening rounds of 66 and 68. Sinfuego, who is on 11-under par for the tournament, and Que will be paired again in the final round hoping to score a much-awaited Philippine victory on this year’s Mercedes-Benz Tour. Sinfuego has never actively campaigned on the international tour but remains hopeful he can make an impression on the big stage one day. “Of course, it’s something I want to happen for my career. I’m not losing hope. I know it’s going to happen." On his final round duel with Que, Sinfuego said he’ll just take it easy and avoid putting too much pressure on himself. “It’s going to be a battle on the greens, Angelo will have the advantage since he’s so experienced in big tournaments but I’ll just try to play my game." Que’s day was not the way he wanted it when he double-bogeyed the par-three 11th hole. Though he managed to recover with birdies on the 13th and 14th, a pair of bogeys on the 15th and 16th left him a shot behind before he missed a 16-footer on the 18th. |
