Organized by the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority in cooperation with Cycling Organizers of the Philippines, the cycling event will have a total of P1.3 million in cash prizes at stake where 70 cyclists will be competing for the honors. From Pasig City, where the CEZA national office is located, the race will pass the provinces of Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, and Isabela until it reaches the 54,000-hectare Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport in Sta. Ana, Cagayan. Stage 1 of the event is the 155-kilometer Pasig to Tarlac lap followed by the 148-km Tarlac to Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya Stage 2. The first cyclist to reach the summit of Dalton pass will be given the Mountain King award and the P5,000 incentive. Stage 3 will be the 109-km. Aritao to Santiago, Isabela while Stage 4 will be the 155-km Santiago to Tuguegarao City, Cagayan lap The final stage will be the 179-km Tuguegarao to Sta. Ana via Aparri race. Organizers said that after each lap, the race leader will be given P3,000 and stage winners receive P5,000. The overall champion will receive P100,000, the first runner up P75,000 and the second runner upP60,000. Participants are assured to bring home at least P10,000 in prizes. |
