IT will be a fight between two titans as Michael “The Great” Katsidis slugs it out with Angel Hugo “El Tren” Ramirez for the WBO Asia-Pacific lightweight title on Jan. 31, 2009 at the Cebu Coliseum.

Katsidis, an Australian combatant, gained a reputation as the an all-out fighter last July 2007 under the Bernard Hopkins – Winky Wright under card in the US where he humbled Czar Amonsot of the Philippines in another fight of the year candidate.

After being beaten twice by Joel Casamayor and Julio Diaz in 2008, Katsidis is now ready to redeem himself inside the ring.

“I'm an all-out fighter. I give it all. When there's nothing left, I always find more and go that one extra step. You have to be physically strong to do it, like I do it and mentally strong. I'm in there to get the business done. I'm a fighter. There's no secret to my style,” Katsidis said.

SGG Sports Promotions under the leadership of Sammy Gello-ani will not only have one title bout in the card but four titles.

Gello-ani has lined up the three young and promising upstarts who will defend their WBO regional belts. They are Ciso “Kid Terrible” Morales vs. Pichitchoke Singmanasak for the WBO Oriental Jr. Featherweight title defense; Anthony “Rocky” Marcial vs . Vacharakit Senayan for the WBO Oriental Jr. Lightweight defense and Marvin “Marvelous” Sonsona vs. Liempetch Sor Veerapol for the WBO Asia-Pacific Youth Flyweight crown.

Two unbeaten fighters will see action in the undercard. They are Rolando Magallano and Marvin Mabait in 6 and 4 rds respectively.

The boxing event is proudly brought to you by SGG Sports Promotions in cooperation with giant television network ABS-CBN and Ringstar Promotions with the support of the City Government of Cebu and SportsBet.
