The department’s head, Environment Secretary Lito Atienza, is a patron of Pacquiao. Giant congratulatory tarpaulins, mini Philippine flags, a live band, and a stage converted into a boxing ring were put up for Pacquiao, who defeated boxing star Oscar De La Hoya in Las Vegas Sunday. Starting at the DENR office along Visayas Avenue in Quezon City, the motorcade will proceed to Elliptical Road and Quezon Avenue; left to Araneta Avenue en route to Sta Mesa in Manila; right to Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard; then Lacson (Forbes); right to G. Tuazon; left to Blumentritt; left to Dapitan; left to Tayuman and Pritil then right to Moriones in Tondo. Then the convoy would turn left to R10 and Zaragosa; right to Del Pan; left to Kalaw then right to Taft Avenue; right to Pres. Quirino; left to Harrison; straight to Pasay City; then right to Buendia; u-turn to Makati before going right to Ayala Avenue then to the Pag-ibig Central Office. In a phone interview, Atienza said the motorcade might last up to three hours, depending on the number of people who would like to see Pacquiao. He said this motorcade will traverse a longer route than the one given to Pacquiao when he won against David Diaz last June. Tags: Manny Pacquiao Pacman |
