Floyd Mayweather Sr wants Ricky Hatton to take on Manny Pacquiao in his next fight.

Following his victory over Paulie Malignaggi, Hatton is eyeing a bout against the victor of the Pacquiao-De La Hoya contest on 6 December.

But Mayweather Sr, who has been training the Mancunian for seven weeks, believes De La Hoya may provide too great an obstacle for the 30-year-old.

He said: "It's Ricky's call, but do I want to see him fight Oscar? Not really.

"I would rather see him fight Pacquiao, that's the perfect match for Ricky. But I don't see Pacquiao beating Oscar."

Hatton will move up to 147lb's for the fight. His only other fight at the weight was his defeat to Mayweather Jr in Las Vegas last December.
