Z "The Dream" Gorres has accepted the International Boxing Federation's offer for a title eliminator against Jorge Arce of Mexico.

This was revealed by Eric Gomez, international matchmaker and vice-president of Golden Boy Promotions, the IBF No. 3-ranked fighter's American promoter.

According to Gomez, Gorres "would love to fight Arce."

Gomez's response came following the offer made by IBF Championship Committee chief Lindsey Tucker recently.

But despite Gorres' positive response, Tucker himself conceded in an earlier interview with sports columnist Ronnie Nathanielsz that he does not think Arce would accept the challenge. He said that if Arce declines, he will make the offer to the next available challenger.

As of last report, Arce has yet to issue a statement regarding the offer.

Tucker said he would go down the line until the IBF finds two fighters willing to fight for the No.1 spot and earn a mandatory title shot against newly-crowned super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan.

Meanwhile, boxing patron Tony Aldeguer of Cebu's ALA Gym said he would love to have a Gorres-Arce clash because he is confident the Filipino southpaw could beat the Mexican.

Aldeguer had been upset over the IBF's insistence that Gorres fight another eliminator even as he already fought Darchinyan a similar event in February. The fight resulted in a draw.

The gym owner said he was made to understand that since the IBF gave Darchinyan the mandatory title shot against Dimitri Kirilov, Gorres would be next in line for a title fight versus the winner.
