Billiards icon Efren “Bata” Reyes impressed his fans in Iloilo during the closing ceremony of the Mayor Jerry P. Treñas Billiard Cup.

“The Magician” showed off his various tricks on the pool table, delighting spectators at the event Sunday in Iloilo City.

Reyes also faced off with tournament champion Ronnie Arnaldo in a race to 11 match.

Arnaldo was the first to score. But he was not able to score anymore after gaining eight points.

Reyes then took charge and won the match.

Arnaldo said that he does not mind if Reyes defeated him because he already fulfilled his dream of playing with his idol.

Reyes, meantime, said that dedication and discipline in playing billiards are the key answers to winning a competition.

The Iloilo City government backed Reyes' statement and pledged to continue its various sports programs to hone the skills of Ilonggo athletes.
